Coloring a Sketch Tutorial by TamberElla Coloring a Sketch Tutorial by TamberElla
Hope this helps a bit C:

This was done in Photoshop CS3! It should be similar in other versions of photoshop though C:

Lotsa people asked, so I decided to make it xD
Sorry I didn't go into very much detail at the end, but really all I do is paint over the shading layer with lighter color for highlights XD;

And the sketch a colored was just a quickie, so excuse any anatomy mistakes, didn't pay too much attention. Angle is a bit off too xD Oh well =P

Whoaaa, I never realized that you could lock the layer...

So many wasted hours of trying to keep within the lines. :saddummy:

Thank you sooo much for this! It used to take me WAY too long just to clean up my base colors, I knew there had to be a faster method. OMG MOAR POEMS!

Thank you so much for sharing this! I remembered something involving "multiply", but I failed in figuring out the whole process. Please remember to continue INK, because it's awesome. :) Have a nice day!

a way to speed up the 'color blocking' part is to use the Quick Selection tool or Magic Wand on layer 0 and then clicking on 'layer 1' or bottom layer. you still have some clean up to do; but it helps a little. XD

 little  bit i forgot; be sure to set the quick selection tool to 'sample all layers', because if you don't, it will only select your LINES instead of INSIDE them!   OMG MOAR POEMS!

(Hope this doesn't post twice) Regarding your instructions: "Now your color layer is locked! You can color freely on it without it going outside of where you've colored." ....My question: How can you color on a locked layer? Or did you switch to the top/sketch layer? Many thanks for the excellent tutorials. Keep up the good work.

you've already got the flat colors down, you're only locking it so any color won't go outside what you already have colored on that layer

What .dpi do you use when you scan? I usually use 300.dpi but I think its to much because it comes out jittery and really crappy. I know its a stupid comment but it wasn't listed here and I didn't know if it would matter or not XD

I have a question... my image turned out a little grainy.. is there any reason why? Is there any way to make it look more like a solid black line other than redoing the lineart in PS with a tablet?
I had also inked it before scanning it.
Thanks!
