I love the bird's bizarre proportions and the way his one leg is braced in the last panel. I almost don't want to find out more about their world; it feels so real as-is. Also, since I see you do Lion King art too I figure I can say this: I thought the feline was Lion King influenced from the start, and that's definitely a good thing. You've got the fluidity and character acting that Disney's creatures did.
You are doing such a great job. Look at everybody hanging on the edge of there seats guessing as to what is going on!
The part that I love about Ink is that you are able to update everyday and the quality of the comic never seems to get poor. It's amazing and I can't even imagine how you are feeling about the decision to update as often as you do. In any case it certainly keeps your watchers interested.
I actually found myself waking up this morning wondering if TamberElla posted yet.
im really liking this comic ! and by the way just a hunch but im guessing kande is like an ink blob thing because he did die but he did something bad thats why hes like that and the other two jin and alti they died but they did nothing wrong therefore they are colourful ? just a guess
yeh its just a guess tho it would make sense im just not sure about jin i was looking at other peoples ideas and they sed he might of killed someone by accident and thats why he has a black blob as a shadow and so i thought maybe hes slowly turning into a ink blob but he has to do something bad in the underworld aswell to become an ink blob himself
I actually really like how there isn't much of explanation, and as the story plays out you just slowly know what the background the story has. Like now it's clear that this is some sort of heaven or hell, or maybe limbo.
It's natural for young animals to die in the wild, often a result of a fatal injury from falling out of a tree for leopards in Africa or being mauled to death by other predators. It's sad but very true that many young animals are killed one way or another but it's life and it's very common to occur in the wild.
Again, that would mean every prey animal, or every animal that ever died period, would be wondering this world, and during all of their undisclosed time of wondering neither Jin, Atli, or Kadne have met another creature before. So what is so special about these three, why are they destined to walk through this "dead" world? What ties them to this world, it has to be a connection to their "past lives" (so to say). Also going by Jin's face a couple of pages back, he gave a visible reaction to the mention of "killing" and also we know very little of what binds Jin to Atli. Though I can understand that Jin could have joined with Atli out of some notion of companionship, or using Atli to find food, this brings up the question of how Jin found "inkthings" before meeting Atli? This would suggest that they appeared to this world at the same time and have been traveling together since arriving here. But I digress (sorry as you can tell now I love to ramble and speculate ), all I mean is that this trio all died in an unusual way, leading them to be left in this "dead" world.
I was just stating something very true to the mishap of how young animals are killed as a result, people seem very surprised by the age of Alti and I just wanted to bring attention to the fact it is a realistic and unfortunate thing.
So is Jin modeled off of an ostrich (his defensive stance really reminds me of a male ostrich protecting it's chicks)? Even though I don't know why, but for some reason I picture this lot being all African creatures (Jin an Ostrich, Atli a leopard, and Kande a african dog/ tan jackel)
Now since I love speculations, here is my theory, if in fact they are all in this world because they either a) died or b) killed someone, that would mean every carnivore that ever lived would be wondering this desolate place, so there has to be special requirements (I'm betting malicious killing, or revenge killing because an animal would understand it's a world of prey and hunter with everyone trying to survive.) My bet is Jin has committed this act of "malicious killing" and this is why his reflection is stained. While Atli on the other hand just died, for some reason I thinking maybe Atli's mother killed Jin's mate/children and this caused Jin to "revenge' kill her, thereby causing Atli to die due to a lack of an mother, and in an ironic sort of way Jin now has to take care of Atli in this new life. Well I look forward to seeing how the story actually turns out.
