I was inspired to do this because my own little dog is reaching her old age, and I love her so dearly and while I don't know how long she'll be here with us, all I can do is give her as much love and care as possible so she always knows she is loved.
My dog is 11 and miraculously recovered from a horrible accident (her new Lyme's disease medication caused terrible side effects and we didn't know it would be so deadly, it was traumatizing watching my poor girl suffer but I am so glad she got through it and we get to have more time together) but I honestly don't know how much longer she has. She's my best friend and sometimes my only source of happiness so this picture is a beautiful reminder that our animals are so precious..I think they deserve to live longer than us. The most painful part of owning a pet is watching them gradually become older and slower, but the memories and experiences we share with them is worth the pain that we'll experience when they depart. I love the mood of this and the expression on their faces
Aw, I remember adoring the first picture when you drew this and this one is just as lovely. I wish all of the luck for you and your dog, it's always sad when a dog passes away but I believe she lived a happy life with you.
This is such a good painting. I remember my old dog (Okay, she was the family Dog,) Gizzie. I grew up with her, and then suddenly she wasn't here anymore. I hope your furry friend stays with you for as long as she can.
;; this brings memories and feelings back to me.. ive lost so many pets.. and so many haven't lived for as long as i want.. because no madder how helpful or kind or loyal,and even playful.. I'm pretty sure that time is money because you can't buy your best friend back.. ;;
Hope that you get many more years with your cat! I have a 17 year old cat and he's starting to look a little worn from age, but still got some spark left so maybe I can get atleast a year or two more with him ^^.
Aw thank you! I guess I've never been bonded this closely with a pet before :3
I hope you also have many years with your cat! Cats are pretty astounding in that they can live for aaaaaaages if they want to! My friend has a 24 year old cat, she's basically blind and deaf and has cat dementia, but he still loves her
I have a cat, who while he is only 4, anything could happen to him. In the past 5 years we have lost 3 cats who were between the ages of 1-3.... So i love ruffy as much as i can every day, so he knows he is loved, taking every day for granted
I also lost three cats around that age too.. :c they ran away because my father was careless.. now I'll only have cats again when I'm on my own so I'm in charge of everything and then hopefully that won't happen again. D:
I know this feeling... we have an 18 year old chihuahua that is really starting to show her age. At the same time, I just recently adopted a pup who is 6 months old, so we have both ends of the spectrum.
