soo, you have a layer with base color and then a multiply layer above it, all with one color? Sorry, for some reason i just find multiply so confusing. XD

btw, you should do a background tutorial. 8D

dang... your tutorials won't work for me, i use pure gimp, no special programs, just the paintbrush and my hand, maybe a little dodge/burn here and there... i feel primative XD

All these require is the use of a multiply layer, that's just about the only difference. Can you use multiple layers on GIMP?

oh, man. that erase-away painterly is especially lovely, which is saying a lot considering the whole tut is great as hell. (great as hell? uh...) anyway, I don't know anything about shading so this has been a real treat, thanks for making!

Cut-away shading looks good for someone in total darkness with a single bright light nearby. (i.e., lightning at night, a campfire under the stars)
