His expression is amazingly well done. There seems to be so much power behind his behind his stare. It almost feels real. It's almost disconcerting to look at because it feels so real when I look into this character's eyes. It not only feels like this is real living being looking back at me, but it actually feels like it is currently looking back at me as though this isn't a picture but rather a window. I almost feel like I'm looking at an optical illusion because when I look at this, I almost feel like my brain expects it to move because all of the correct visual ques are present to convince my brain that this is real even though I consciously know that it isn't. There isn't a much better way I can put it. I'm not sure how you did it, and it's quite hard to describe, but I am simply in awe at the amount of emotion and realism you've captured in this character's face. I don't think I have ever seen an illustration (other than an optical illusion) that made my brain feel so confused. Great job.
The lighting, freckle-spots, scarf-thing, palate, and sketchy eyes… they're all great! A very nicely put-together picture. If you stare at it for a little while, you can almost see him breathing out, making little puffs in the cold air. Could just be me, but I've always loved it when a picture can make you see an animation all by itself.
